And oh by the way, this is another otter I've painted onto raw basswood~  it's a cradled 8x8 panel, completely stable, lovely wood tone, and so for me to paint all those dark colors is a crazy stretch!  I love painting on black but I've been wanting a bit of a switch~  hmmm~
