Tuesday April 30

Here are some photos of last week's class work!  I hadn't been able to deal with them until now-  my iphone is kind of working and I can get the photos off of it, and I can talk on the phone, but I need to get another one anyway...
Not sure when that will happen...
You know how you look to your week ahead and don't see any open space for a while...
But it is all good!  Painting Class tomorrow night, Art4Shelter Thursday, helping Duane with goat heads Friday, Saturday may be a possibility but I HATE going shopping on Saturdays and SUNDAY is MAYDAY!!!!!!
Wahoo!

Monday April 29!

Wow!  We are almost through APRIL!  Some spring, aye?  Though we did have to put in sunscreen this weekend, and make Max play in the shade, and give him baths before bedtime that ended up muddy from all the fun he'd had that day!
Here are a couple more of my Art4Shelter submissions- the event is THIS Thursday, May 2 at the Chamber Hotel downtown Mpls!  Preview the art from 6 to7pm, and then GRAB and BUY from 7 to 9!  I will be there, probably doing something for the event.  I get to go help hang it tonight!

April 26, FRIDAY!!!!!

Okay I've been playing with this one... the luxury to play!  This is the gate along the river at Ashford Castle from my family trip in March.  My sister, Beaner (Colleen, to lay-people) and I went for a walk in the morning (yes I know it is awfully dim for morning but believe me!  This was it!) and this was the path towards the town of Cong~
SO gorgeous!
Don't you fret none-   more will be forthcoming!
'Night!

Anyway, here is another Irish painting~
This is on the way to Connor Pass on the Dingle Peninsula~  SO gorgeous!

April 18th!

Sorry I haven't posted again in a week!  But I HAVE been painting!  We had a delightful painting class last night, and I will post some of those images later... I realized I neglected to take pics of all of the work because I was distracted...

Anyway, these are two small paintings of Ireland that I did on 8x10 black paper and they will be at the Art4Shelter sale on May 2 at the Burnet Gallery in the Chambers Hotel!  I have a few more I am working on still...

This horizontal one is a small version of a much bigger one I plan on working on tonight when I get Max to bed....
It is really fun to have painting anticipation to look forward to!  I am finding the atmospheric distances from my ireland trip photos to be a delicious challenge...
Stay tuned for some Burren Mountain painting attempts!

Thursday, April 11, 2013

Hmmmm.... like I said, it was snowing when we left Dublin, and this morning woulda had Ireland locked down...  I came around the lakes to work today and was behind cars sliding backwards down Cedar Lake Road... so I google-mapped my location and took a slight detour and came out on the road just between the two totally stuck hills with people slipping backwards on them... yup!  It is April in Minnesota!
And this is another shot out the window of the minivan by my mom!  I think it was on our way up to Ashford Castle.  Perhaps I will paint one of those tonight!

And DON'T FORGET to come to DIAMOND'S ON FRIDAY! 6 to 8pm!  Celebrate the CATS with me!

Wed April 10, 2013

And we have SNOW!  I thought we left that in Dublin...
I was up last night painting, and here is my first big Ireland Painting-  This is from one of my mom's beautiful photos, taken on our second day there as we drove north of Gallway looking for Rosemount, which is the actual town in Ireland that my hometown of Rosemount, MN was named after!  This was probably taken from the minivan window as my sister hurtled us through the narrow, rock-wall lined roads...

"Feed Me"  10x10 $135

"Yes, Yes Throw It!"  12x12 $185

"Tough Cookie" 12x12 $185

and here is the BOOK!

Sat April 6th!

And here is a redo of Pearl from March 16th~  the original just BUGGED me and Pearl's grama asked for the full body version, so here she is!
Here's what Bonita requested...
"I had hoped you would use the body in the painting because of her particular foot favoring which it shows in the photo. She is soooo special - she lets Henry(her human grandchild) drag her sometimes and still lays on him whenever she can. They have a really big cream lab now and this old cat cuddles and kisses him. They love one another - I know you would like that!"
I am also working on the book as we speak-  I am not sure I'll have any with me next Friday at the Cats Opening Party but I will send out the link to order your own as soon as I have it!  Yay!

April 3rd, Wednesday!

Shoot!  I just realized I haven't taken ANY PHOTOS AT ALL of the paintings I dropped off at the Northrop King Building for the Deviant Dogs Art Show tomorrow night!  ACK!  Holy CATs, dog-man!  How could I DO that?!?
I wanted to post a couple to titillate your doggie desires... dang!  Because they are GREAT!  And there are only 5 of them!  Ranging from 6x6 ($75) to 12x12 ($185), they are brand new and super awesome and I don't know when I can get back over there to take pictures!  Well, the sale starts tomorrow during FIrst Thursday, and will continue to Sat night, 3 to 9pm, with profits going to Rotta Love Plus, a rescue group for dogs that people are often a bit hesitant about, like pitbulls and rotties...

SO I will just have to give you a sheep instead!

April 2, Tuesday!

Okey Dokey, back to a "normal" schedule!  Whew~  this week I am getting the cats all ready to hang and I'm working on the Cat Book and labels and all!  Plus I am getting the photos I took in Ireland a bit more organized....  wow!  I took a LOT of photos....
Here are a couple paintings I did in Ireland~
This is the first night in Dublin, at the Ballsbridge Hotel, where I painted our wine glasses, holding our complimentary wine... boy, were we SPOILED!
And this is a resident of Hugh's Pub in Spiddal, Galway, where I spent a LOT of time in 1987 when I lived in Ireland for a semester!  Spiddal has changed since I was there-  it was a rather poor area, one of the last where Gaelic was spoken, and now it is a humming suburb of Galway with new houses and construction.  And EVERYONE learns Gaelic and speaks it now!  Irish Pride!
