Feb 7, The Story of Our Fire-

Warning- this is really sad- and as true as I can remember it from that night.

MINNEAPOLIS — A home was deemed uninhabitable after the Minneapolis Fire Department extinguished a flame that had laid waste to the residence.

According to MFD, crews responded to a report of a house fire in the 3800 block of 26th Avenue South around 4:37 p.m.

None of the home's residents were inside the building when the MFD arrived, but three of their dogs were found dead. The MFD is still searching for the residents’ cat and tortoise.

“Fire crews laid lines and conducted searches of the building. Fire crews were able to extinguish fire found on first floor but had to evacuate the building to locate basement stairs due to heavy fire in the basement that was burned through to the first floor,” according to a release from the MFD.

The crews eventually reentered and finished extinguishing the remaining fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to the release.

I needed to write this out so I don't forget it. That's Max and me in front of our house, with our kind and comforting tall neighbor Sean standing next to us. Max is wearing a bright orange coat given to him by another kind neighbor, Janessa, and I'm wearing a coat lent to me by our friend and neighbor and now landlord, Andrew.

On Sunday Jan 8th we had been at my brother Tom's house in Highland in St Paul, just across the river, for a Second Family Christmas because all my siblings were in town. It had been a great time, and we headed home after 4. When we parked in the back and got out of my car, we could smell an awful plastic fire smell and wondered who was burning something terrible, but when we got up to the house we realized we couldn't see in any of the windows- they were all black. We suddenly realized the horrible smell was in our house because there was a fire inside, so Max called 911 while I fumbled my keys and got the back door open. Smoke came pouring out and Duane went around to the front to open the front, thinking we'd get more air in so we could get the dogs out. I called 911 too, and Max and I told the firepeople where to come, and then we got on our stomachs in front of the door, not daring to go in the smell of the smoke was so toxic, and called and called and called to our dogs, calling what we always called when we came home or before we were gonna leave: "OUTSIDE!  COME ON, EVERYONE OUTSIDE!"

The smoke was horrible, we couldn't see far inside the house at all, and Max and I went to the front to try calling from there- we still believed that somehow they were alive in there and would come out to us... we could hear things moving and popping in there and thought maybe it was the dogs trying to come to us, and that if we called louder and more, they could come to our voices...

I didn't realize til later that Duane actually went inside with a fire extinguisher to try to put the flames out.
Our neighbors starting coming out, and soon after the first fire trucks arrived- I think we ended up with 5 at some point.

It all becomes a bit of a blur at this point. Max and I were in the front, trying to stay out of the way of the fire people who were working desperately and knew about all of our pets in there- We were given coats and blankets from neighbors, and Max and I went into Donna and Regan's next door to warm up, and Max comforted me and made me breathe some circular breaths to calm down. He's so amazing. I called my insurance company to tell them what was happening and to get some help.

Our friends Elizabeth and Lily and Lucas and Mike and Tony (who was a fireman and knew the people working on the fire!) were there helping us through it all-

At one point, the fire people brought out Sally, our smallest terrier and tried to resuscitate her. She'd been hiding under the bathtub on the first floor, her usual hideout. The smoke detectors were all going off and must've driven the poor critters crazy. Max tried to keep me from looking, but I told him I needed to see her. They couldn't save her and laid her in the snow, and someone came with a towel and we wrapped her in that, stroking her fur and telling her how much we loved her and what a great dog she was and how glad we were that we got to have her as part of our pack.

I think at this point we were told that they had found Bunny and Teddy, dead, upstairs.

The smoke was so thick and the power was turned off and the gas I think, and the firemen were needing Duane to tell them how to get to the basement because the fire had burned through the dining room floor and was raging in the basement and they needed to be able to get down there.
In the photo at the top of this page, you can see the smoke on the side of the house- that was our dining room, where Plato the tortoise was temporarily staying til I brought him back to school. We think Plato had knocked his heat lamp out of the tank and onto the rug, where it started a fire. I had just bought that rug, darn it.

So it was incredibly dark and hard to see in the house, full of smoke and no light but what the firepeople carried with them. We watched them pulling the great heavy firehoses around the yard and across the street, and so many neighbors and newspeople showing up to see what they could do. Andrew said at one point, you know I have a house across the street you can stay in.

The firepeople had such heavy gear on and one was working to get the hose around to the dining room side of the house, and there were Christmas lights wrapped around the gate and they were having a hard time getting the gate open and finally just wrenched it off its hinged and threw it in frustration. I could imagine how hard it can be, and how scary, to be figuring out where to go to get to the fire and to have obstacles in the way. Because the fire was in the dining room floor, at one point the Fire Chief called everyone out because that's how you lose people- the floor breaks through and they drop below into the fire.

I think around now they had the fire out, and Max and I were able to go around into the backyard where they had laid Bunny and Teddy in the snow.

Oh, to see those familiar furry bodies, smoke smudged and still in the snow, just broke my heart. Bunny was found on Max's bed, and Teddy on the floor near her. The fire person who brought them out said they wouldn't have suffered a lot, it would have just been like going to sleep. But that's not a lot of comfort. We held them and stroked them and told them how great they were. Max held Bunny in his arms, cradled to his chest like he did when she was alive. I just can't believe she's gone. Bunny was a central figure in all of our lives, with her clownish behavior and her solid little frame pushing her way in wherever she wanted to be.  She saved us all during COVID, binding us tighter with her goofy little snores and snorts. We will always be grateful to that dog, and we will always love her.

Animal control was there that night, I guess when they know there are pets they have to take the bodies. They were very kind though, and helped us carry Sally and Teddy and Bunny reverently to their truck. I'm most sad at the thought of Max's beloved companion and bed mate being gone. We only had Bunny for 4 years.

Lily and Lucas, Max's best friends, were so helpful and kind, and Zev, Max's other best friend, came with his parents too, to see what they could do to support us. I think the sight of our house in the condition it was in was really overwhelming for all Max's friends too. They've been in that house since they were little, playing hide-and-seek everywhere and Legos and building forts with the couch cushions. Lily and Lucas had taken care of Teddy and Sally and Fatoosh, our cat, for us last summer when we were up at Camp Mishawaka with Bunny, and so I think the loss of all these animals and things hit them hard too.

As for Fatoosh, the firepeople said they thought they saw cat tracks on the roof coming out of the house- we had a door onto the back roof that we'd let Fatoosh out of often, and it's possible he was upstairs hiding when the firepeople came up and opened that door to get fresh air in, and he may have made it out, but in talking about it later, Mike our friend and neighbor thought that perhaps Fatoosh didn't make it far. There was so much toxic smoke in that house, he probably inhaled more than any living thing could handle, and we may find him in the spring under our woodpile, where he went to hide and die.

Plato the tortoise lived for two weeks after the fire- Duane went into the house with some of the last firepeople after they'd made sure the fire was out, and walking through the living room, ground zero, he saw the tortoise on the floor, legs and head out, and Duane was sure he was dead and bent to pick him up, and Plato pulled his legs and head inside his shell! So Duane brought the tortoise outside to Max and me, and we were crying over him and holding him inside Max's coat, and we took him inside to Mike's house where Mike got a bin for him and we tore up recycling to make a bed for him. The poor guy. We were just so happy to think he'd survived. And it was a bit of a crazy joy too, Duane calling him the Assassin Tortoise and joking that he'd been plotting how to do away with the rest of the mammals so he could have all the human attention to himself. I know. Poor taste, but humor helps in a crisis, and it was all we had.

I had called my brother Tom earlier that sad night to tell him our house was on fire, and to maybe not let everyone else know until they'd gotten home safely, because my youngest sis and her boyfriend and my oldest brother were all staying at my mom's house in Rosemount and my middle sister had headed home to Duluth that afternoon. Kel, my youngest sis and her boyfriend were heading to Connecticut the next morning at 4am and needed to get packing and all that done, and sadly Sally and Fatoosh were both pets we'd been given by her. She'd found Sally in Miami over ten years ago, and Fatoosh maybe that long ago as well on a street in Beirut. I'll have to check with her on dates...  She immediately wanted to come up to our house to help look for Fatoosh that night, but we were exhausted.

Tom, my brother, came to pick us all up, and I thought Duane would want to stay at Mike's house to keep an eye on ours, but the firepeople were awesome and got someone to bring things to board up all our windows and lock up the house so vandals couldn't get in, so Duane and Max and Plato and I got in Tom's van and went to stay for a week at his house in St Paul.

On the way to Tom's Duane said he thought he'd like to go to the ER to get checked for smoke inhalation because he'd been in the house without a mask on and it was seriously toxic. So Tom took him over there once we got to his house, and Mary, my kind and loving sister-in-law, took Max and Plato and I in. We had a giant king-sized bed upstairs to sleep in together, and that was the best thing. There were a lot of tears that week. There are still a lot of tears.

I know we will be all right, and that our house will be rebuilt better than before. There has been so much incredible support for us, we are so grateful. We will be paying this forward for the rest of our lives, I believe.

We are also still very sad. Losing all our pets, it's hard to mourn them one at a time, but I'm trying. Plato did live on for two weeks. I took him to the vet two days after the fire and they were amazed at my story and couldn't find anything immediately wrong. And my brother Tom took great care of him in his home office for eight days until I brought Plato back to school with me, on Thursday the week after the fire.  When I came in the next day, the 20th, he was dead. That totally threw me off and I had to call the office for a sub and go home, carrying his sad little body in a box with me. He was our sad little funny story of survival, and the fact that he hadn't survived made it even harder.

Thank you for reading. I needed to write this, for me. And I appreciate you.

We do have a new puppy, who is doing her best to help us heal with her love and licks and attention.

I'm including some photos of the house here, they may be hard to look at.

Jan 29, 2023 A Commission

 I haven't posted in a while.

We had a house fire on Sunday, Jan 8th, which rendered our house unlivable and killed our three beloved dogs, and eventually killed our tortoise, Plato as well. We haven't found our cat yet, alive or dead.

We are doing okay, living across the street in our generous neighbor's spare house, which is better than you could ask for in this situation. Our garage is just fine and Duane's studio in it is functioning, and he's been doing a lot of archeological digging in our house, sifting through ash and debris to see what we can save. We'll be rebuilding inside, tearing out all the walls and replacing the wiring and plumbing and all, so really, it'll be a better house once it's done.

We are just really sad about loosing Bunny, Sally, Teddy and Plato, and we don't think Fatoosh could have made it out alive...

SO here is a commission of a sweet pup for your viewing pleasure-  I'll post more~

Jan 5, March Lengthening Shadows

Last March, I was awarded a Solo Residency at the Art Colony in Grand Marais, and I got stuck at my sister's house in Duluth for 2 nights, and the morning I finally went on up, these deer were in her backyard. I've got a few paintings from them- the light is fantastic!

Jan 1, Otterly Content

I hope you all are having a great start to your new year! It's a treat to be here on the west coast where the streets are softer concrete and there's hens and chicks on the volcanic rock retaining walls.... and there's palms and fluffy pines and moss, moss, everywhere. I love moss.  I should paint some moss.  Hmmm.

Also crows. There are crows everywhere!

Ah. So I wish for you, contentment.

Dec 31, Otter Wonder

I'm in Portland, visiting a very close friend, and it is so weird to be somewhere else at this time of year!  We aren't planning much for tonight, maybe watch the New York fun if I can stay up that late, and I hope you are having some fun wherever you are! It is a great thing to be able to move on, to the next year, with hope and some anticipation. As I get older, I value even more those people whose love has been a part of my life for so long.

This is Otter Wonder, I like it. That is just such a great shape, that critter on the snow!  There's no snow here!

Dec 29, Otterly Curious

Here's a new otter painting for you, and it will be hanging at the Confluence Gallery at the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge starting next Thursday and going til April! Duane and Max got some sweet photos at the zoo last week for me. I haven't painted otters just sitting on the snow for a while, and I was smitten with that negative/positive space interplay going on. They are just such wonderful shapes!

And I had to include a couple shots of us on our walk yesterday, with our sweet friends Julie and Jeff at the Wildlife Refuge!  This one is just at the end of American Boulevard by the Mall of America, and a great snowy walk!

I hope you are having a great holiday season, and enjoying some time relaxing and being with friends and family!

Dec 16, Maisy and Milo!

Alright!  I've been gloriously swamped under a beautiful deluge of commissions and I can't post most of them because they are gifts and I don't want to spoil the surprise, but I CAN post this one because it has already been given!

The photo was a bit blurry, and the larger dog is actually sitting in front of the smaller, so I had to do a lot more futzing with adjustments to get it appear that they are next to each other, and you know how much I love painting black dogs!

December 7, The Light Through the Trees

This is a repost, because I'm wanting to make sure I'm posting and I can't post what I'm painting right now which is an absolute storm of love! I have this amazing, glorious stack of beautiful creatures on my studio table that I'm working through, and I can't show you yet because they are all commissioned paintings as gifts for people. So after the holidays I can start showing you these!

And I also wanted to post this one because it will be at the Confluence Gallery at the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge in Bloomington this January along with a collection of my paintings of other Minnesota Mammals and waters, especially OTTERS!

I have sold so many of my otter paintings, I have to paint more for this show! What a problem...

November 30, WI Dane Co Blind

This is one of the paintings from the first HOMEvember in 2017, and I still have it, and I really love it. I can't remember who sent it to me, but it makes me think of treehouses and Baba Yaga's chicken legged house... It's a good one!

I'm working on my HOMEvember book, and I am going to just be including this year's houses.  It's taking me too long to dig back and find my old photos of the past ones, sadly, and so that book will have to wait.

But this one is available, if you're interested!

Nov 29, Light Breaks Through

It's the end of November and I have been loving posting so often, and now I am immersed in a collection of commissions that I need to complete before Christmas and I can't post those yet, because they are surprises! So I'm pulling up some favorites that are still available!

I really love this one- it's from a photo taken in Duluth at the little road side stop on the north side of town- I think it's now called Glitch Gumee something... and the sun was shining through the trees...

This one is a weird size too- 18x14 and I entered it in an exhibition and needed a frame, and went looking at thrift stores. I found this one, with an old stained print of a caribou in it (not valuable, sadly) and I love the frame!  Oop-  I guess you can't see the frame- I'll have to post another pic with the frame!

Nov 23, The Corrigan Home

This is the house I grew up in. My mom sent me the photo, and I was surprised at how small it looks to me. This is from 1964 and I was born three years later, and I remember huge elms on the boulevard and I giant oak in the backyard. I climbed up those rain spouts onto the porch with my brothers, and danced on the wood floors. The large window to the left is onto the dining room where we would have our tree, I think... and do you see that wreath on the front door?

Nov 22, Emily's Parent's Spooky House!

Emily was a student of mine at St Mark's a million years ago, and I still remember the wonderful giraffe linoleum print she made! She asked me to paint this of her parents' house all dressed up for Halloween, and I thought it was pretty awesome, so I did.  Hope you like it!

Nov 21, Terry's Place

Here is my friend Terry's house!  She has chickens and made a beautiful tree house from the remains of a huge tree in her side yard- you can see it to the right of the house! And I tried to make sure I got most of those amazing plants in her yard!  It's so nice to see a garden right now, with most actual plants in Minnesota under the snow...

Nov 19, Zev's First Home

This is my friends' Zan and Dan and Zev's old house, over in South Minneapolis, and it's a sweet house and we had many a friendly warm soup supper there. And my son Max played endless video games upstairs and bounced on the trampoline in the back, and lots of food made in that kitchen!

Nov 18, David's Neighbor's

This was a bit of a challenge, and I'm not sure it's done but I really don't have time to keep going on it today!

David wanted this painted as a gift to his amazing neighbor's and he explains why~ and I LOOOOVE this!

The couple in that house help build and hold our community in the neighborhood.  One is a painter like you now after retirement. She also is writing a book. Eileen.

Shelly… I do not know where to start…. She is a maker.  In the basement she has a wood shop to rival most. In the garage natal is the game.  She fabricates for so many people.  In the attic of the garage there is a small room which is dedicated to music. She has also a long history of photography. She has taken pictures of the people in the neighborhood for years documenting the changes.
They have worked on the house for many years.  It stands proudly in the center of the block.  The nights are lit by the light on the pillars of their front stoop.   In the boulevard they grow chard.  The chard is delicious and there for the neighborhood.
They are both curious and conscious of the the big and small worlds around them.

Nov 17, Coffee John's Joint

This is John's house in North Minneapolis, where I spent a ton of time, back in the day. John ran the Coffee Gallery, a coffee shop/gallery in Uptown in the 90's and I spent some time there.  He also had one of the first Food Trucks in the cities, the Coffee Wagon, which I got to drive around in the year and a half following his motorcycle accident and recovery, and I tell ya, THAT was an adventure!  In my years with John, I did a lot of motorcycle riding and hanging out with amazing people and doing really fun things.

John didn't send me a story for his house, and just asked that I add the flower box to the front that he's always meaning to put there!

Nov 16, Arlene's Son's Cabin

Arlene is a wonderful creative spark of a human, and I imagine her son must be as well!  Here's what she's written about this place~

When my cousins decided to sell their cabin—just a short walk from our place in Herbster—we were pretty sad. But they let us know when they set a price because we had “friends” who were interested. Those friends—our son and his sweetheart—are now our new favorite neighbors!

Nov 15, Duncan and Sophia's Farmhouse!

My friend Kat sent me this photo, and I was very hesitant about painting it because it is such an awesome photo and I wasn't sure I'd be able to get the people in there!  But I'm glad I gave it a try!

Here's what Kat says about this pair~

These are my dear friends, Duncan and Sophia. Duncan is a book binder by trade and Sophia is in IT, but is everything crafty. They bought a home in Wright, Minnesota a few years ago, and completely rebuilt this into a beautiful farmhouse that will stand the test of time. They have an apple tree that gives in abundance and now they use one of his book binding presses to make cider!
I don't know if this fits your criteria, but I thought it was a lovely picture, if you see on the porch, her mother is there, waving! :)

Nov 14, Kamp Kritta!

I guess this is the most appropriate one for today!  We've got snow here in Minneapolis, and some ice and some slippery roads. This is the deck of Angie's cabin in the snow, and I love love love the light on the snow!  There are SO many versions of white!

I don't exactly want to sit on those chairs, but I am happy to look at them through the window!

It was a lot more futzy to paint than you'd think, actually, but really fun to mix up all that variety of white and light~

Michelle is a dear, beloved friend of mine, with whom I have had many painting and art adventures in Grand Marais, and I'm hoping we get to do that again this March!

Nov 12, Janis M's House

I'm a bit late with this one, but better late in the day than never! This is Janis' house and she sent this quick little blurb about it~

I didn’t send you a story about my house! I just moved in to it in July so I don’t have much history. My plan was to find one closer to my daughter and son-in-law because they are expecting their first child around thanksgiving! I saw this house and fell in love and ended it 20 minutes further away🤷‍♀️

I do think it has opportunities for a fairy garden so my grandma status should still be ok!

I love it!

Nov 11, Jody B's House

Jody has had me paint a few things before, and she didn't exactly send in a story about this house, but I appreciate what she DID write, so I'll edit it here!

I think you’re asking me if I have a picture of the house.
I was hoping to take one this weekend (in secret, so the homeowner doesn’t know. Wait, that sounds creepy. It’s my uncle’s house and also the house where I grew up. I want to give your painting to him for holidays.
But I don’t have a current picture.
When do you need it?
Also, I don’t care which day.

And so that is why this house is today! And I apologize for posting TWO November 11ths... thanks for not nagging me about it!

Nov 10, Elizabeth's Grandfather's House

This is a lake house built on Clearwater Lake in 1914 by Elizabeth's grampa, and we extended the painting to include the sweet barns and trees and that little set of turquoise metal chairs...

Here's her story (and she's a writer!)~

This is a summer lake home that dates back to 1914, when my great-grandfather Oscar Weiss acquired land on Clearwater Lake. Back then, he and his family would drive from Minneapolis, where he was a dentist and professor, riding in their 1906 Shoemaker car. The drive took about half a day (today it takes us a little over an hour). Imagine a dirt road about the width of a room, between huge patches of corn. Once, the Shoemaker got stuck in the mud and had to be pulled out by a farmer with a team of horses. Oscar constructed a small boathouse first (still standing today) and that’s where his family stayed as the house was built. His two sons hauled stones from Clearwater Lake for the fireplace, and Oscar (also a carpenter) made the home’s stairs and buffet. The home has outbuildings—barn, garage, and large henhouse that’s now a little cabin for people, not chickens, to sleep. And see those turquoise swinging benches? Years later, one grown son of Oscar (Raymond) used to sit on them with his favorite bantam rooster on his knee.

That rooster’s name was Doody. These days, a different Raymond—my dad—is the one who takes care of his beloved Cedar Ridge, as the property is named.

Nov 9, Jay and Leslie's House

I had fun painting this one!  The light is so wonderfully bright in it! It makes me happy just to look at it~

Here's what Jay wrote~

This is what the kids have always called the "yellow house". We also call it home. Since moving to Minneapolis in 2009 it has been where we center our little life.  It is over 100 years old and from the beginning we have always tried to honor the house as best we could by filling it with love and tending to its structural needs.  This photo was taken post Halloween fun and I like the color of the leaves and the bright yellow against the blue sky.

Nov 8, Judy's House!

This one was a bit of a struggle!  The house color in my color copy was not the same as it looks on my computer screen, and I didn't quite have time to drive over to Summit Ave to take a look in person- there's also a LOT of little details that I'm not sure are quite viewable here!  Ah well-  here's what Judy says about her beautiful house!

776 Summit Avenue was built in 1901 and is considered an example of Queen Anne Rectilinear architecture.  I know this because the woman who sold us the house left us a book entitled "St. Paul's Historic Summit Avenue" by Ernest Sandeen and it is listed inside!  It originally cost $6000 to build and was designed by J.W. Stevens.  History aside, we purchased the house in 2021 when we moved back to St. Paul from the West Coast.  We've had a tremendous amount of work done - replaced all the storm windows, put on modern gutters, replaced rotten porch wood, steps, and railings, had the outside painted, some inside painting done, and added tons of landscaping to the back yard.  Next year, I plan to re-do the landscaping around the front of the house.  A friend of mine who lives a few blocks away likes to say that we don't own houses like this - they own us. There is ALWAYS more work that needs to be done.  It does have gorgeous woodworking inside and stained glass windows.  We love living on Summit!

Nov 7th, Mom's Childhood House in Farmington, MN

This is my mom's house where she lived when her parents moved to Farmington after living in Fergus Falls, I think... I should really have her write this story, shouldn't I? She grew up the second oldest of eight children, three girls and five boys. I'm pretty sure they weren't all alive yet when they lived in this house... it doesn't quite look big enough for ten people.

I did like the leaves on the tree, and that fun diamond shaped window way up in the attic.  I wonder if the kids spent any time up there?

Nov 6, Beth Carreno's

I love the story with this one! It is so real, and sweet. From Beth~

Neither my husband or I really loved this house when we toured it, but we both thought the other one loved it. So with each of us keeping a little secret, we moved into a house that was never quite perfect and was only supposed to be for a few years.

We danced with our daughter in this house, sang at the top of our lungs with our son, survived a few health scares, loved our dogs and grieved their loss, decorated Christmas cookies, hosted dinner parties where the food was always served about an hour later than planned, hung stockings and waited for Santa, ate picnics on the floor, walked to the swimming pool, and loved our way through a few tough times. By the time we realized this wasn't the house either of us really wanted, we knew it was the home that we needed. We actually lived there longer than any house we've been in since then. It isn't the prettiest house in the world (that color!), but it was a great foundation for our lives together. I drive past this house every time I visit Topeka. "

Nov 5, Julie's Dream Cabin in Port Wing

Our friends bought a house on the south shore of Lake Superior a couple years ago, right when everything was getting crazy and lockdowns and all, and we've been lucky enough to be invited to hang out with them a couple times. Last time we were there, Julie showed us the first cabin they AirBnBed in when they were there, which is what made them want to live in the area, and this one isn't it but it is one that she pointed out on a walk as one that has always entranced her. It is small, sweet, and there's a toy sailboat in the window that doesn't show up in the painting.

I like this one.

Nov 4, Trick or Treat!

Here we go!  The first one is a photo my sister took while the boys were trick-or-treating on Monday last, and I really loved the light in this! It's that time of year when homes look so cosy and warm and inviting, and I love our neighbors and their generosity. Its a great excuse to go knock on doors and say hi!

This one is an auction, starting at $50, and all the money from this one will go right to Simpson Housing Services~

 Hi everyone!

Here's the Official List for this year's HOMEvember project!  I'll be posting daily to this blog and hope to include some sweet stories as well!

And all paintings will be displayed at Poppies on Grand just before Christmas!

I'm so excited and delighted to be starting on this project with you all watching!  I may even try to do a video or two of me painting the homes for you. And if you've sent a home, please send a story too!  Art is all about the story. Every home has a story. Or more!

All HOMEs will be painted in acrylic on 8x10 canvas (unless otherwise determined by you and me!) and will be available for $150 for THIS PROJECT ONLY! (Usually an 8x10 commissioned work is $300, and an 8x10 painting by me is currently priced at $180)!
Click HERE for more info and to grab your spot!

AND I'll be donated a good chunk of the proceeds from this project to my friends at Simpson Housing again, since there's always a need for more housing for folks!
