11/15 Winter Tree

This is a nearly monochromatic painting- and it was really fun to do!  Houses can be a bit of a pain because of all the detail that feels necessary to maintain the illusion of the reality- and it can be hard to determine what is absolutely needed, and what can be left out.  This one was more of a "leave it out" kind of painting. And I had so much fun exaggerating that yellow sky!  It was morningish, in the winter of 2010, when this photo was taken.
