I went up to Wolf Ridge in Finland with the 7th grade class last January because they needed chaperones, and it was 25 below zero. COLD. Duane and Max came up on Friday with the dogs and picked me up, and we spent the weekend in Two Harbors at a little Airbnb that was expensive for what it was, but allowed dogs so we didn't have a lot of options, but it had a big front window that filled with light in the evening. Glorious! And we went hiking around Gooseberry falls with the new-fish visitor center there, and this was a view we saw from the walk down to the shore. The ice was opalescent, pearly grey. There's nothing like winter light on the ice. I love it.
