ON-LINE March-May 2020 Paint Love Saturday Mornings! with Mid-Week Critiques!

Paint Love~ NOW ON-LINE!
Six-Week (plus?) Acrylic Painting Workshop
Saturday March 28, 2020, 9:30-10:30am, through May 2, 2020!

In this class you will learn to paint in brilliant Golden Heavy Body Acrylic on black gessoed panels and canvas, bringing the light out of the darkness. However, I'm adjusting this on-line class to cover other painting materials, as we may need to be creative with our supplies!

Classes will begin with a group critique of one or two paintings completed during the previous week. After our group critique, I will explain the lesson and either e-mail you the videos for it or demo it!

The first two/three classes focus on value, proportion and getting set up for success, and the second two look at using photos as reference, including photos on digital media like cameras, iphones and laptops. We will study drawing skills, composition, value, using a viewfinder, preparatory sketching, mixing color and color theory. I will be pushing you to paint with expression and large brushstrokes.

Part of the value of taking this class is the amazing discussions the incredible students engage in. Working with adult learners has been incredibly educational for me!  Every session I learn something new from all our participants. We have gentle critiques at the start of each class, looking at your homework and seeing how many ways there are to see a similar object. You bring your adult experience to this class, and you will learn. We will be using the on-line meeting place, Jitsi Meet (https://meet.jit.si/) and our room is KatKStudio.

This class changes every time I teach it, depending on who is in attendance. Started as an introduction to acrylic painting, this class has become a meeting place for people who want to explore their own creativity through structured lessons and homework and in-depth discussions with others about life and art. The only prerequisite is that you are willing to learn, and that you promise to try NOT to compare your work to anyone else's.

Questions are encouraged, as is courageous thinking. We paint simple still lives, looking at value and proportion. Advanced painters are welcome, as are beginners, and we all work from where we are.  Part of the value of this class is in the discussions and connections we make.

I will not be providing a Materials Included option this time, but my Handout is HERE for you and the Materials are listed under section 2, or you can use whatever you have on hand!

Class will be a flat fee of $200 at this point, and this will include Saturday morning critiques as well as a personal weekly critique for you! It is possible I'll figure out how to add more group critiques, and more personal ones as well, and I would LOOOVE it if we could even meet at the studio again before the end of class!  We'll just have to see how this all rolls~

$200 with NO TAX! wahoo!
