Wahoo!! I am excited to invite you to come paint with me at my studio in the Ivy Building for another session of Paint Love this Fall! Just in time for the colors to start!

I believe painting helps me live in this world as my best self~ It is how I make sense of the noise and chaos, and it is how I settle myself back into my bones when I'm feeling upset or off-balance.

This is an acrylic painting class, and we will be painting with a limited pallet on black canvas or panels. I'm teaching you how to use the materials I use when I paint, and it is what I am best at teaching.
Each week we look at a different important aspect of painting such as value/contrast, composition, color-mixing, etc, then I'll do a demo, and we will have time in class to paint.
We will paint from still life objects and from photos, looking at value and proportion, composition and color mixing, brush strokes and the importance of contrast. We'll also look at other artists and learn from each other.
There will also be homework because I am a firm believer in the concept of Daily Painting. I do understand how hard it can be to create time to paint in your day~ The idea of the homework is to press you just enough to cause a little discomfort so that you will work to find some time somewhere... even just 20 minutes can be plenty with the help of your Sta-Wet Palette!
Every week, I take photos of your work and send you an email with them and the homework. In this email I include any notes or advice or links we've shared in class- so much learning happens!
Advanced painters are welcome, as are beginners. I will work with you to move you forward from where you are.
I do usually have plenty of extras if you forget some of your materials, and I am always happy to share. Please let me know if you have any questions about the materials or the classes~
