The Studio is #210 at the Ivy Building in South Minneapolis, 2637 27th Ave S, in the Seward Neighborhood, and I will meet you at the front door or side door. My cell is 612-720-6675~

I am so excited to invite you to come paint with me at my studio in the Ivy Building for another session of Paint Love.

If you have committed to my class before, thank you and please join us again!  If you have never taken a class from me, I invite you to put on your bravest self and join us- we'll make it worth it!

I believe painting helps me live in this world as my best self.
It is how I make sense of the noise and chaos, and it is how I settle myself back into my bones in peace.
I hope it can help you too!

This is an acrylic painting class, and we will be painting with a limited pallet on black canvas or panels. This is how I paint the most, and it is what I am best at teaching.

Each week we will look at a different important aspect of painting, I'll do a demo, and we will have time in class to paint.

There will also be homework because I am a firm believer in the concept of Daily Painting

I do understand how hard it can be to create time to paint in your day! The idea of the homework is to press you just enough to cause a little discomfort so that you will work to find some time somewhere... even just 20 minutes can be plenty with the help of your Sta-Wet Palette!

We will start each class by looking at the previous week's homework followed by discussion and your homework assignment. We find that the input from other people working in the same space and at the same time can be invaluable in teaching us to see our work more clearly.

We will paint from still life objects and from photos, looking at value and proportion, composition and color mixing, brush strokes and the importance of contrast.

Advanced painters are welcome, as are beginners. I will work with you to move you forward from where you are.

I've decided to offer a MATERIALS INCLUDED option, for those of you who may be new and don't want to have to collect all this varied stuff.

I do usually have plenty of extras if you forget some of your materials, and I am always happy to share. Please let me know if you have any questions about the materials or the classes~
