October 29, "Brown Diagonal With Yellow"

How's that for an abstract sounding title?  It is fun when I paint something like this and it appeals to me on several levels... There's something really exciting with this simple composition, with the angles and the overlapping and the colors.  I thought I'd want to paint another red leaf because I love the punch of that strong color, but I really like the calm soothing brown and the brilliance of the yellow~  I like looking at it!  Isn't that wild?  And these leaves are some I picked up last week... all the other leaves in Minneapolis are soaking wet...
